Players who could play in more than one position

,,,and do it well. Not talking about the square pegs in round holes bollocks or people filling in because of injuries but footballers who can do a 'proper' job in either-or any-position they're selected for.

I thought of this whilst watching James Milner playing on the right against Brighton. Doesn't have to be for us...I always got the impression that you could put Wayne Rooney in any outfield position on the pitch and he would be excellent.

Steve Watson for us comes to mind....for me, he was equally competent at full back, CB or in midfield; I actually preferred him in midfield.

Beardsley, for me, was equally brilliant whether up front (his partnership with Cole) or pinging passes from midfield.

    Over to you.

Super Mac began life as a successful fullback and likely would have stayed there if his club hadn't been short of strikers.

Also, Big Jack was a power when he went forward.

James Perch could do a decent job anywhere in defence or midfield.

Pretty certain Ronaldo would be a world class CB. As would our own big Al. Bale in his Spurs days could play anywhere, then theres Zlat who could play all 11 positions at once.

I always thought Rob Lee could do it all as could that cnt Cabaye.
