The speed of negotiations are also not helped by having to buy thr club, either buy the ground (if its in the deal) or renegotiate the leaseback which looks at undervalue. There are about 6 or 7 companies involved, a loan from Dell, the earlier loan from the fund manager, doubtless bank overdrafts and other facilities. Probably HR issues relating to TUPE pension funds etc. The Delaware contract... We don't know how any deal will be structured so we haven't got a scooby about how complex it is, but it's not a simple matter of "writing out a cheque"

Trouble is we don't know how far these sort of things had progressed before the press got hold of the idea and put it into public domain.

And covid quarantine, travel restrictions etc can't have helped

All this takes time and is no doubt not helped by another lockdown in the middle of the process. Think about how long the average house sale takes - 3 -4 months and thats a simple deal!

I'm not criticising Mel, things might well have been different had we beaten QPR at Wembley that day, such are the fine lines that affect how matters turn out and lets face it owning a football club is a good way of getting a small fortune, from a large one! Owners are easy targets for criticism by fans who don't have to risk their own money, some of course justify the criticism, Mel I think rescued the club from the doldrums of the American ownership, but for a combination of reasons his vision just didn't happen, which is sad.

I'm neutral on yet another middle eastern owner taking charge of a club, but I guess such concerns will be swayed if we are a successful mid table prem team within 5 years!

I just wonder whether he wasn't ill advised and perhaps ill served by people who were working with him, we know a little about some issues from the media but we clearly don't know the whole story.
I’m damned sure he’s been let down and ‘ill advised’ by a variety of people including club executives, managers and players...and I think he’s done well to manage and conceal his frustration and disenchantment as well as he has.

I’ll take your word for it as far as takeover details are concerned...not a world I know very much about.

MA...given your comments on CKR...would you start him against Coventry or have him come on for the last thirty plus minutes against tiring defenders?

Given 5 subs at the moment, do that and they are likely to bring on fresh defenders to deal with him.

The purpose, going forward, should be to get Kazim to the point where he can play the full 90+. You're not going to achieve that playing him as an impact sub.

With regard to Tuesday, a lot will depend on ay reaction Kazim might have to his exerts yesterday. Elsewhere I'd seriously consider Bielik in for Evo, provided Bielik is up to a potential 90+.

Other than that, despite my "affection" for the player the young Buchanan is, Fozzy did the biz and, based on the adage of "you're only as good as your last game" should keep is place, if fit. I also thought Buchanan was unlucky to get dropped.......
