VAR....be careful what you wish for

Just watched Liverpool v Brighton and probably the worst VAR decision, including the Bamford offside), to give Brighton an extra time penalty. Simply stupid, and yet it appears the PL will continue with this completely insane process next season.

    We "wanted" this?????

VAR should only be there for howlers imo. No more of these 'maybe' 'maybe not' decisions being made. We can't make football perfect where we can always definitively tell if something is a foul or not, there will always be some form of debate about a decision which is why we can't imagien VAR is suddenly goign to make everything correct

I honestly think now if you get rid of Var a massive decision will happen that costs a team big time and then it will be.
" if Var was around it would not be given"
The rules are not helping that's for sure
Most games I see in Europe it tends to work ok

I did see that decision on MOTD last night
To be honest only my view when it was slowed down it looked a pen to me he looked like a hack that missed the ball and connected with the attackers foot Could be wrong hey that's Var for you

Agreed - they should look at how rugby league uses it and rugby union. The ref in the middle should have the ability to use or not use VAR. I think they should also look at penalty replays at normal speed too - slow mo makes everything look worse.

A lot of ex pros want it scrapped.

I suspect the media like the controversy though.

Once again VAR was brought in for goal-line decisions and some muppets thought it would be a good idea to use it all around.
One decision in our game where the defender got hit in the hand which was raised and nothing was said about it. Well, the rule states if any part of the hand-arm is raised then it's a pen or free-kick. The commentator said it wasn't given cause he was too close to the attacking player lol. They make rules as they go f them.

The ideal situation would be that most grounds should have huge screens showing the games on the ground(Not sure if they are shown there are here) And if the ref is not sure about something he can stop the game and watch it on the big screen. It might only happen once or twice a game.
