    Sawyers

I’ve been on his back this season and disappointed to see him in the starting 11 last night.
To be fair though, I thought he had a decent game, particularly 1st half and maybe justified his selection over Krovo.

I think he is tidy on the ball .... but just needs too much time .... I think he is adjusting to the pace of the Prem.... and not the only one. I just worry in midfield we have no-one apart from Gallagher who can put his foot in ....Sawyers is a poor tackler .... Also think he has lost confidence ..... in his early days when he came back he was good at breaking with the ball .... now he just offloads and often sideways ...

Must be the first one for many months Prando! Nobody can convince me, he's any better than Krov or even Same Field!

Why oh why does Phillips still come on - he would struggle to get in the Harrogate team!!!! The treatment of Grosicki is shameful then again - it's most likely about money!

Romaine started very well for us setting his personal bar high. However his performances tailed off to the point where I couldn't recognise him from the player we'd signed. His confidence appeared as low as his form.

Opinions are one thing yet anyone who has a genuine problem with Sawyers' overall performance against Sheffield United has two things in common. One is a blindfold. The other is an agenda. When both combine it becomes very boring.

He's had two good games on the bounce but supporters won't forget the bad ones in a hurry. I'm hoping for more of the better in future.

    COYB 😎 .

You are not completely wrong but he's not a patch on 20 year old Gallagher in terms of determination, energy, quick thinking and forward passing. Still a lot of sideways and backward passing. He had a decent first half against Sheffield but 2nd half he invited pressure. Nobody can convince me that Krov or Field are better options than him.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything Al', we both know it would be a complete waste of my time and effort 🤣 .

I think Sawyers, Field and Krovinovic bring different things to games and I like all three. At the same time they all have areas for improvement.

I really couldn't care less which one of them gets the nod so long as they perform when called upon to do so.

Sawyers underperformed for a long time and should have been dropped sooner. He probably would have been if Sam Field been fit and Krovinovic been available earlier this season.

However, credit where it's due. Sawyers has done well for the most part in his last two performances.

Perhaps, we are looking at different things. Sawyers was average at best against Man U and to be fair had a decent first half against Sheffield. Is he better than Krov - NO! If Sawyers was half the player as Gallagher then many would be happy - Gallagher is quick thinking, always looking for the forward pass, full of determination and energy. Is Sawyers? For me the midfield will always be the engine room to link up the forwards and protect the defenders. Gallagher will be a very wanted many by many Premier clubs next year - will Sawyers? Why not?

What Bilic sees in Sawyers, Phillips and Kanu quite frankly baffles me!
