So, Crawley away, thoughts?
So, Crawley away, thoughts?
He will play the U23's plus anyone trying to get fit
We certainly appear to have more depth now with all the new players, so playing a below full strength side looks a lot more appealing at present.
Why? So if we lose "its ok" despite being a gazillion places above our opposition?
If we have more strength in depth, all the more reason to be confident in a full strength side doing what it should. Fed up of anticipating f00king banana skins, should go out and put a hatful through them.
Simply stating that the powers to be making decisions will see it that way. I won't lose sleep regarding their decision either way, and I'll leave it others here to argue that the opinion must be right on the matter....as per the norm.
Who gives a hoot about this tourney? Other than beating the scum nothing good has happned and often a run of bad form has occurred after losing. Play the U23s and the backup goalie for them and hope we can offload kiko the clown. Better yet just play him and we will lose early and can focus on tbe prem.
Usually (at least of late) nothing good has happened because;
1. We have had poor senior management, useless coaches and less than stellar squads
2. We have regularly fielded weak sides
3. We haven't cared enough about the tournament
This season, none of those would/should apply (apart from (3) maybe). As Sniffer observes, (#8) if we do well in the cup there is the prospect of European competition, which even the most optimistic of supporters would say is a pipe dream at least for this (and probably next) season in the PL proper.
It is a competition we could win and are capable of winning.
And i dont like getting beat.
The prem is tightening up. Fulham is playing better and other than the blades no one is really out of the picture in the second half of the table. I also don't think the blades are as bad as the record shows.
One injury to a critical player because of this tourney and the positives mentioned above are all dashed.
