the fvcking proclaimers - everything thats wrong with scottish music. Despite deacon blue, waterboys and primal scream that list is an example of songs for the deaf - songs that sound more like everyone else than anyone else. The full list is KLON radio. No associates, jesus and mary chain, mogwai, life without buildings, belle and sebastian, orange juice, ****age fanclub, Josef K, fire engines, Arab strap, even no early eurythmics in top 10 (ffs), Idlewild, glasvegas, danny wilson, the vaselines, hell even biffy clyro.

Thank fvck I never listened to mainstream p!sh Anyway rant over each to their own like

Best scottish band ever was The John Noakes Experience

Tinseltown in the Rain is a great song, would have been my pick. A few great bands missing from the list- Associates, Danny Wilson , Biffy etc. Belle and Sebastions song Boy with the Arab Strap should have had a mention aswell, great song.

    Yip. Mainstream pish.

I seem to recall a similar thing to this on telly a few years back with half a dozen of Scotland's so called finest muzos on the panel and it was only Pat Nevin who had any decent music taste.

Met nevin at a shed 7 gig many years ago. He shares my love of cocteau twins too - now there is another scottish band ignored lol ach ive given up as most folk seem tomlike mainstream pish but always good to hear from the more educated in music too lol
