If that happened Cayton then the parameters would change. We wouldn’t expect to be fighting to stay up we would be looking at a different target.
With the resources we have then I think Warne is the right man in charge.

I was commenting because there is a perception by some that someone else would do better and without investment who?

Maybe we would try and play more attractive football but would the results be any different ?

    Probably not imo

Keep with 3-5-2 formation while January as shown last night we have no fit wingers good enough. We lost our way abit when two of our better players on the night Olosunde & Lindsay were substituted. Barker said Hirst won't come good till December well his time is now! January get shut of Vassell & bring Kayode back.

Who would do a better job than Warne with the resources we have available?

Funny though I’ve never had anything from anyone.
For me we have to wind back to the close season of 2019, just after relegation from the Championship.* Stewart was being slated for lack of investment in the team to try and keep us up. Yet, he (Stewart) made a statement saying the club was in a much better position than ever before - which came across as puzzling to many.

I think he meant there was a change in culture of the club. He would build long term through a more settled management structure. Warne was given a roll to build a solid player base on a tight budget to save money long term.

Gone were the days of boom and bust; the revolving door of players and managers based on short term results chasing an impossible dream, which cost him a fortune. At one time Im sure he was paying off 2 sacked managers and one current.

Evans has a better record than Warne to date. However* they were different times. Could Evans do the job Warne has been asked to do and operate within the same constraints? I doubt it.

Who else could come in and work to the same blueprint? Eddie Howe possible but would bust our pay budget.

Real tough question to answer. Just maybe we have the best available that fits the criteria.

Unfortunately there are quite a few teams who can significantly up their game in the last 30-45 mins if they are not winning.
Brentford are a prime example and in the last season we were in this division both Leeds and Villa did it to us at the NYS.
We were the better side or at least at parity with them at HT but they can up their game and bring on a few quality subs and we just can't match them.

Not a criticism, just the situation we find ourselves in.

Not all teams can do this though so we need to pick our games to pick up points we need

I thought it was ironic that their Manager said we are a well run club going in the right direction which we are.
But if there's ever a club that's a blueprint for year on year improvement it's them
Around the time we were both getting promoted from div one in recent times they were buying for £800k and selling them on a year or two later for £3m
Then they rolled the dice and bought for £3m or so and sold for £7-8m a season later
Now they buy for £5m or so but sell for £30m
    New stadium
Sky pundits fornicating all over them
One of the best sides in the division and will probably go up automatically

It’s same every season especially when we lose.
There will always be a better manager out there no matter who’s in charge.

Not guaranteed though is it that they’ll go up automatically, didn’t happen for them last season when some were saying same thing
There’s quite a few in the running so they’ll have to be on top of their game come next half of season

Its what we do against the teams around us in this league that will decide if we stay up or not. Anything against the top half teams will be a bonus eg the Bournemouth point.

So far so good against those below and around us. 3 against the pigs and Wycombe and one at Forest. We should be targeting Cov on Sat for a decent result.

Sods law suggests that when we come to play Derby they will be turning round a bit. They wont continue to be shy te and neither will Forest or the pigs. The bottom 3 will be the ones who went up last season and hopefully a couple of others in the frame.

We need to keep out of that bottom 3 because once you get into it, it is like chuffin quicksand.

Seems common sense has come back to this board unlike some comments last night on the match thread. We all want the same, a successful football team. But most fans on here are realistic bout our chances while in the championship.

Match threads are often raw emotion, in the moment. Also it brings out those who dont want to make credible points and discuss them but spew the same narrative, no matter how daft with very little substance.
