If the club is holding out for £1.2M with only 6 months of the contract remaining then that’s great.
And shows an improvement from the strategy used by the previous owner.

I’ve always been of the view that I’m not bothered which player is sold as long as:
1) The club gets top dollar for the player.
2) Players are not sold in January when the club is fighting relegation or promotion.

Well we arn't in a promotion place - but we arnt far off.
So for the sake of continuity I would prefer Mowatt to stay - however if we do sell then I would expect a good price and an oven ready replacement to hit the ground running.

I reckon if the recruitment team receive half of the Mowatt money they'll have done well .

Hopefully some gems are jumping off Cryne juniors spreadsheet .

Personally I wouldn't be looking for a direct replacement for Mowatt .

I'd look for a left wing back and get Styles in Mowatt's position .

Harry Pickering from Crewe would be my target .

Mowatt has to stay for me, even if he goes in the summer for nothing. Yes a few quid is better than nothing but we don't want to destabilise the team and bring back inconsistency. Anyone who thinks we can lose both James and Mowatt in the centre of the park and carry on regardless needs to give their head a wobble!
