Did The Wasp Factory appear on the list?
Can't remember my recommendations, except that James Robertson's And The Land Lay Still was on it (deemed to be too long). My review of that used very little printer ink. "Bleak House meets Pulp Fiction meets Hansard meets my unwritten diaries from 1974-99." His Testament Of Gideon Mack is really good too.

I only ever read Banks's The Bridge which was a bit tooooooo allegorical for my literal, simplistic understanding.

Oh, but you should revisit his body of work.
I'd recommend them all, specifically Espedair Street, The Crow Road and Stonemouth.

    Page turners one and all.

I’ve always thought I should. I think one of the halflins left a copy of Crow Road here on departure for Toronto. I may get around to it, but I have a hoorin mahoosive Willem van der Ark-sized pile of books, and a bulging Kindle to get through as well as a half-library of stuff (ken...) I want to re-read. At least I’m reading for entertainment and learnage these days, and don’t have to plod through poorly-researched and shoddily-written pulp pish for reviews.

The latter played at The Undisputed Home, I note.

The Psephologist and Jiminez report is peppered too with former Maroons’ names Jonny Smith, Daniel Park and Matty McDonald.

Now for the next round on Boxing Day, with no fans allowed in anywhere, but with squads allowed to travel hunners of miles to fulfil ties, before return journeys still clarted in mud, dubs, glaur, emerald-green grass stains on those fortunate enough to have graced the sacred turf of the UH.

Of course, for squads travelling back south to the Central Belt, the ban on ablution facilities will make little difference to their default soap-dodging proclivities.

Maroons coasting all the way to the final now - 4-2 winners.

Nern and Broxburn goes to penalties after 120 minutes and not a score. EDIT: Heelanders win 4-3 on kicks from the penalty mark, Archie.

Some other ties going on, but **** all of any importance, relatively.

    Good work www.fitbanorth.com
