Barnsley have had a £500,000 bid accepted for Forest Green defender Liam Kitching, a product of the Leeds United academy.
A recruitment source has told*Football Insider*that the Yorkshire club are closing in on the signing of the centre-back, 21, after agreeing terms with the League Two outfit.
Signing these young lads from League Two is very different now when we are solid mid table and with a settled squad .
Totally different thing from signing them as we did Ethan Pinnock from FGR and expecting them to step up straight away with a good number of other recruits and hit the ground running at championship level .
The lads got time to develop and hopefully not expected to dig us out of the bottom three .
This is how you are supposed to do this .
Welcome Liam and hopefully your time here will be very successful .
I hope this signing is true.
Reported at £600k.
Another example of these owners willing to spend and build steadily brick by brick.
Looks a decent enough prospect this lad, welcome Liam.
Not wanting to put a downer on things but we aint signed him yet only unconfirmed reports agreed a fee. If it comes down to personal terms in January and someone else int Champs wants im, you know what that means.
Miss out then club will say we have Sibbick back
From the Forest Green board , sounds a decent prospect .
