According to Alistair Darling’s book (around 2012, I think, and an interesting read for those able to put aside puerile prejudice), Docherty was the “late Tommy Docherty” then.

A character, chancer, pogerer of the physio’s wife, but a boy with whom a pint widda been very interesting. When Dons’ physio Dave Wyllie lived roon the corner from here, I never saw the Doc loitering.
