Strange, worrying, unprofessional... Or a load of rubbish. I hope the latter!

Depends what you believe but doing a little digging it appears a delayed payment rather than missed and all involved have been notified. It could be that with changes on ownership and bank accounts etc. its more an administrative problem. Lets hope completion is confirmed this week.

I don't understand how a wage payment gets delayed, i got paid in december, you know well in advance that payments are made monthly or quarterly so there should be no reason other than the cash isn't there to be paid either by the club or by Mel himself out of his own account like he's done once before, so are we at a transitional period in the takeover when one party the other was paying the wages this month, but how can that be, its pretty clear cut to me that until the takeover is signed sealed and dropped off then its the clubs/Mels responsibility, once signed over then its up to the new owner, can't be an in between can there, is this the new owners first clanger, this takeover is looking more like a Fawaz clown show all over, did liverpool and newcastle sus this guy out early on

Its something that crops up in every takeover, because all payment authorisations have to be changed, arrangements made in new accounts, whilst one try's to ensure all payments are made when due this doesn't always happen. One would assume that we are in the changeover phase and I know its frustrating but Xmas and the Covid-19 situation can't have helped and untangling the various subsidiary companies and associated loans takes time.

It does need to be settled soon though.

There can be many reasons from an admin perspective, not least that it is a shorter month considering the holidays to complete the various procedures, and no doubt with reduced staffing owing to Covid. Still shouldn't happen though - I hope you're wrong and it's nothing more sinister!

Nothing more than typical DT scaremongering imo. They provide an attention grabbing headline and then come up with an explanation almost identical to Swale’s, before the article disappears.
