Forecast for Chorley is...snow tomorrow and -6 on Friday night. On a non-league pitch you never know.

They might quite fancy playing our kids on a snow covered pitch- not that there is any crowd safety to be concerned with either.

I thought that, but apparently they've had a full sized tent with industrial heaters on for the last couple of days, they probably wouldn't have bothered without the tv appearance money at stake.

Have to be a bloomin’ big tent!
Be interesting to see what happens with Villa v Liverpool where Villa players have the same problem and I believe Shrewsbury v Southampton has been called off because of Covid. Seems strange we’re expected to play, if true.

If you have 14 fit players the game goes ahead. We've played 18s and 23s in the 1st team this season so the 18 and 23 squads count. Them's the rules.

Is that just an FA Cup rule, MA...surely can’t be applicable to League matches where loads of games have been postponed across all four ‘divisions’?

The FA will do everything to get games played on time. If you pistpone a (or several) league game it can simply be made up later with no knock on impact. Do that to knock out matches that typically allow no option for replays and the whole draw / process collapses rapidly with a few 14 day delays etc and non availability of fixture space.

It's just one of those things. Option would be toss of coin. At least this way there is TV revenue

It appears it is, a sad reflection of the fact that the FA Cup is not important.

It is, Leicester had one way back in the 70s I think. It was on sky sports earlier today and you could play a game in there as long as you kept the ball below head height. The problem will be if temperatures stay below freezing, the pitch will start to freeze the moment the cover is removed.

Villa's kids equiped themselves well last night despite a 1-4 reverse. They may well have fielded the youngest average aged team in Cup history, not seen confirmation on that yet. Will our young guns be even younger than theirs?
