Rams players and staff with Coivd

Seems a number of unnamed players and staff at Derby have tested positive for Covid, this is happening more often at clubs and one wonders how long before there is a suspension of the league?

Might be pure coincidence but Sheff Wed also reported cases yesterday and their training ground has also been closed. We played each other last Friday......

It is the Daily Fail and they are the only outlet (apart from the Athletic - at least as bad as the Fail) tomention it so far but they are saying Rooney, his staff and the entire 1st team squad are out of the equation and we will field U23s and U18s with Darren Wassall in charge.

Now in the DT as well, MA.
Not sure I understand how Rotherham were allowed to postpone because two or three players tested positive/were unwell and we have to fulfill the fixture with no first team squad or training facility.

It happened to Denver in the NFL where they had to play with their first 3 squad quarterbacks and others missing, whilst Baltimore could defer their game after being hit with COVID themselves. This was due to their being some fault / negligence on their behalf - maybe the same here?

Plus the EFL want us relegated anyway

I watched that whole game, as weird in its own way as the Italian rugby team’s refusal to engage a few years ago. Yes they had to play because there was a breach of protocol. I hope our youngsters smash it by the way

It's because it is a FA Cup tie.
If we can't field a team, due to covid, we would have to forfeit the game.

Slightly off topic, but at the end of Pearce's statement about the Chorley game, he mentioned that the u18s couldn't train at Pride Park because the pitch was being relayed. There have been a few comments lately as to the poor condition of the pitch, maybe it's been the result of a lot of games over a relatively short period of time. Hopefully it should last the rest of the season now.
