    Livi tactics

Anyone think we have adopted livi tactics, long intelligent balls using Connors electrocuting pace.....

We have introduced Livi's tactics, - but its about players giving 100%, about not giving up and believing in themselves.

There's a real energy about the squad and a hunger to get the ball, - a complete difference to a few weeks ago.

Its the same players, but they are in the face of the opposition and if they lose the ball they don't say "I'll leave it for someone else, - they track back and make amends"

You can't ask any more of a team, - what a transformation!

It really is. Playing out from the back wasn't working so well. I am happy if we continue this improvement.
Manager says another 2 or 3 players coming in. Looking forward to it.
We seem to be ok financially if we can expand the squad.

and there's no praise for the manager who a few weeks ago a large amount of us were wanting out. Same players, same manager, and it's the players who get all the praise. Yet it's the same players and manager who got us into this position. And it's the same players and manager who are showing signs of getting us out of it but nothing said about how well the manager has done!!

Have you actually looked at AJ's match figures over the last year and a half. He would have been long gone from any other side I suspect.

And look what he's had to work with. He's had nothing in the way of a budget and has had to survive on loan signings. He's not being given the chance to build a team. It takes at least a season to build a side that will compete at the top end of the table but with the way queens work the players are gone after one season or less. He's fighting a fight here with both hands tied behind his back and imo Alex Ferguson or klopp couldn't have done much better with the constraints he has had. Until this policy of penny pinching at every turn stops we will never be in a position to build a successful side. If it's about survival then so be it. How can he be criticised for that when we are still in the championship and showing an improvement but it's success we are all wanting and until the purse strings are opened to allow two year contracts etc then the success will have to wait and surviving is all we should be happy with and the manager is doing that so far

The players in the last three games were there at the start of the season yet didn't perform so who's fault is that-the BoD come on!!!

Perhaps Hewitson has been correct to stick with Magic and Sandy.

Your right but I'll blame the bod for not allowing a successful side at Palmerston. Even if we did compete at the top end, come the end of the season most players will leave and the manager has to start from scratch and build again. What chance has he got? And that's down to the bod not spending money on the side. The team is made up of players on one season contracts and loan signings. Ferguson spent how many years at man Utd building a team that brought success? Klopp spent about 5 years at Liverpool before winning his league. And that's all with better resources than what Johnstone has got. So equate that to queens level. Please explain how the manager has any chance. We look at the livi team that went up through the league's. That team was together for a good few seasons. Johnstone will never get that luxury from the current bod. So yes spike...I will point the finger at the bod when the complaint is lack of success. Like I mentioned. If the target is to survive in the league then how can anyone complain when we are still in the championship. But if the target is success then the policies at queens will never bring sustained success and that is down to the bod

The BoD can only operate within the budgets they have and considering that level we are doing well to run a full time team staying in the Championship. We can all question their ambitions but without a significant increase in funding we are what we are and keeping our heads above water is admirable with that in mind. We can all look enviously at the successful managers at the much bigger clubs however most of these cut their teeth in the lower leagues demonstrating their abilities on equally poor budgets before being snapped up because of this success. The game is far from that many harp back to in the 60's and before that when the majority of clubs were non professionally where money did not dictate the fortunes of the clubs but this has long gone and with very few exceptions the big wealth teams dominate controlling the game to their needs. One day perhaps things will change.
