They might have forgot they were deducted wages for some rule breaking (I’m sure they have somewhere along lines)
Seems there is a finance shortage at Derby County, after some players have not been paid their December wages.
The situation is due to the delay in the takeover by Derventio Holdings , back in November 2020 a buyer Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nehayan, used a takeover vehicle, called Derventio Holdings to buy the club, but the deal has still not gone through, Derby County owner Mel Morris has been looking to get outside investment, the better part of 2 years, to which the club took out a loan from American firm MSD Holdings.
Not forgetting Derby County were charged with, a financial fair play breach in 2018, over the sale of their ground, but were found innocent.
Players not paid are said to be frustrated, by the delay in receiving their wages, but they perceive a lack of communication from the club, but CEO Stephen Pearce sent a letter to the players, apologising for the situation, and promised to pay as soon as the club is in a position to do so.
It seems the players are in the same same situation has the Sheffield Wednesday players were.
Sheikh Khalid still owes £500,000 in bills for his failed takeover of Newcastle United.
Looks like Derby county don't have the money, to bring in players during the January transfer window.
They might have forgot they were deducted wages for some rule breaking (I’m sure they have somewhere along lines)
A few decades ago they had financial difficulties and the RUFC owner at the time paid their bills.
It isn't allowed now but it was then
Derby have to be the ultimate 'perennial' Championship failures! I have a good friend who has been a Ram all his life but has no time left for the club and now prefers Burton Albion. They have tried everything to get to the Premier League from huge salaries , Big name managers , Wayne Rooney PR stunt etc , etc , etc. He has said for years that the one glaring missed opportunity that would have had them in the Premier League years ago ,and most Derby fans have the arrogance to turn their noses up at , is/was Neil Warnock!
I would not trust Derby County as far as I could throw them, high powered lawyers trying to rip the FA off for all they are worth.Cheating bar steward.
How many times can this club bend the rules of fair play?
Judging by the Club reps on the EFL board as many times as they want !

Well it seems their £60m take over is going through imminently just in time for us. Rooney set to be named Manager.
Derby County takeover still not gone through, also some players December wages still not been paid.
Derby county have been in contact with the EFL regarding the wages issue, the club could have points deducted for non-payment of wages, the club rumoured now to be thinking of selling some of their good players, to get money in to pay wages.
With end of January near, some players will be then owed two months wages.
