Obvious to say but we really need to try and finish above them as any punishments from the league would amount to whatever keeps them in the league. 6 points from relegation, 5 point deduction, 1 point would be a suspended points deduction and so on. We all know how it works. The league and the outside pressures such as broadcasters will want Derby in the league over the likes of us and Wycombe because they bring in the £££. Well, ordinarily.

Bet your bottom dollar that any deduction would be for next year, just like Wednesdays.

It's shocking but there you go.

Makes you wonder what promises were given to Rooney, to make him take the Derby County hot seat, that there would be money to get players in, because the new investor has loads of cash to invest.
Could be the Derby County boardroom are using Rooney's name to promote the club, hoping his contacts with the big clubs, would fetch in players mainly on loan, and get them out of the relegation mire the club finds its self in.
But the transfer embargo has put paid to this happening, the owners will be scrambling to get new investors, if the take over of the club fails with sheikh Khaled.
After Rooney claimed, he was told previously that, " All the paperwork was signed " and that Sheikh Khaled's takeover of the club, " was ready to happen ".

It was claimed that Sheikh Khaled still owed £500,000 legal bill, over his failed attempt to the takeover of Newcastle United.

Derby County players finally get their December 2020 wages.
Which could lift the transfer embargo on them, to sign players in the January 2021 transfer window.

BUT - The players are due to be paid their January 2021 wages this week, if the players are not paid on time, could it scupper any transfers.
OR - Having someone from Derby County on the EFL board, will they turn a blind eye, and allow players in.

The situation is due to the delay in the takeover by Derventio Holdings , back in November 2020 a buyer Sheikh Khalid Bin Zayed Al Nehayan, used a takeover vehicle, called Derventio Holdings to buy the club, but the deal has still not gone through, Derby County owner Mel Morris has been looking to get outside investment, the better part of 2 years, to which the club took out a loan from American firm MSD Holdings.
Not forgetting Derby County were charged with, a financial fair play breach in 2018, over the sale of their ground, but were found innocent.
Players not paid are said to be frustrated, by the delay in receiving their wages, but they perceive a lack of communication from the club, but CEO Stephen Pearce sent a letter to the players, apologising for the situation, and promised to pay as soon as the club is in a position to do so.
It seems the players are in the same same situation has the Sheffield Wednesday players were.

Sheikh Khalid still owes £500,000 in bills for his failed takeover of Newcastle United.

Looks like Derby county don't have the money, to bring in players during the January transfer window.
Found what I put on about Derby County getting finance loan from American firm.
