Burnley v Manchester United Match Preview

Is it really more than 11 years since Robbie Blake’s rocket volley downed SAF’s United? Can’t forget the Beast diving to save Carrick’s rather weak penalty. Love to have more of that same spirit on Tuesday when we welcome OGS and the Red Devils. One advantage we had back in August 2009 was the absolutely fantastically Turf Moor crowd that night. United will be favourites that’s for sure but we know we can beat them if our defensive unit play to their strengths. I would like to see Jay Rod start but I think Sean will stick with Wood and Barnes. If he does we will still hopefully have Jay Rod and Vydra to come off the bench. Hopefully we will find a midfield than can close down Pogba and McTominay. COYC!

With the virus having hit us and not knowing who is going to be out, this is not an easy game to predict at all. UNited on their day are a match for any team in the PL, we are well capable of lifting our game against the top teams, however, I ask again --who is available to play? We do know that, whoever plays on the night will give their all for the club and we can ask no more than that.
Whether Jay will be fit and under consideration, we know not and we also have Dwight possibly able to come back, we don't know about Charlie, who we could really want available.
We also don't know which United will turn up, although they have been more consistent lately. One point would be good and three would be a real bonus ---fingers crossed!

It's all becoming rather farcical, Derby having to play kids in a seriously corona impacted FA Cup game. So much for the integrity of the FA Cup.

EPL elite teams having to field seriously weakened teams while the rest of us are in danger of being arrested for not being home. So much for the integrity of the English Premier League.

How on earth Chris Whitty allows this sh!t fest to continue, God only knows.

We might need to think about damage limitation...

    ''God only knows!''

BT: Do you think I should give upstairs a call and ask what is really happening. We have direct link here to 'upstairs'?

To keep the riff-raff's minds off what's being done to them BT. If you're going to put the entire population under house arrest, you'd better find something to keep them occupied, a steady diet of footy on the box works as well as anything.

No brainer Alto. You simply cannot scream "Stay indoors" and then allow elite sport to continue.

They can do just what they want BT, try walking down the street protesting about lockdowns and you'll be on the floor and cuffed before you can blink. Last week there was a huge crowd outside the courtroom for the Assange extradition hearing, who they were I have no idea, media, his mates, activists, campaigners, ordinary members of the public, who knows, but there were a lot of them, all crowded together. The Old Bill were there, never moved a muscle, never bat an eyelid, not interested.

If the government want elite sport to continue, it will continue.
