Well, if the conclusion is this guy is no good then we need a new striker ASAP. the top scorer has 3 goals. This says everything about us So who do we get to help solve this issue. Stating the obvious, if you do not score you do not win and we need to win.

I can't recall a time when all our strikers were firing blanks.

I still trust Sean to pick the best team but, from the outside, I think we should give Vydra and JRod a go.

I played a fair bit of footie back in the day at about Clitheroe standard, and most managers agreed that to see the best (or worse!) from a player they need about 6 consecutive games to get the feel of how a team played and the quality of the players around him.

Gibson, Wells, Vydra and quite a few others have never been given that chance and I find that really strange, especially when we have paid big bucks to bring them in.

Obviously SD looks for something on the training ground that some players just can't give.

When Vydra came on for 68 minutes to replace Wood and scored the winner, he started the next 2 games and scored 1 goal against Bournemouth. We then played Spurs and Chris Wood came back in and scored against them.
Vydra then started the next 5 games, one of which he played up front on his own because of injuries. We then played Liverpool and Jay and Chris played up front and this was the same in the last 3 games of the season in which Chris Wood scored in each of them.

Vydra had played for West Brom in the PL back in 2015/16 and had 7 starts and 16 sub appearances. He scored 1 goal in one game he started and 2 more as a sub. In total he played 667 minutes for WBA.
Sadly, his record with us has been similar and yet he scored goals for fun at various clubs in the Championship.

Chris Wood has made the step up with 37 goals in 94 starts and 16 sub appearances.

That can’t be with us Alf as we don’t make loads of chances so that sorts that out.

Can’t criticise a forward who never gets a chance , we can all moan a bucket full about his missed chances yesterday but wood and Barnes are playing every week and still not taking chances.

Rodriguez and Vydra is a better partnership they are intelligent and look far more threatening- the other two are just lumps without much idea ——- I have said previously that wood will score goals if you get some proper service for him

Personally I’d rather give Vydra and Jay a go.

Check out his goals sub with Watford and Derby , and then you’ll see why he doesn’t score with us , slide rule pass between full backs and centre backs.

When was the last time you saw one of those watching us ? Bet your struggling even though your good with stats

If we’re honest Vydra does not suit Dyche style of play hence why I said before Sean Dyche didnt want ask for or buy Vydra .

    That’s why he doesn’t play.

Maybe JRod and Vydra will be given a chance next game or Two,which would be good to see how they get on together. I'm willing to give it a try but still hold on to my original thoughts about Vydra ..

Looks a different player... skilful runs at players, got a strikers instinct for the goal, his pass and movement is great.
    where has this player gone?
