I have also taken up acting, I sit in woodthorpe park dressed as a tramp and drink vodka from a brown paper bag while shouting obscenities at random passers by, I attract quite an audience some days.

On a more serious note what is happening with the UK homeless in respect of COVID? I live in an area with zero homeless people so I dont' see that stuff.

There had been a visible rise in homeless people in the city centre before the pandemic hit, queensland, but since lockdown I have only been in the city centre a handful of times, on those occasions it seemed that there werent so many about, hopefully they are safe but most of the day shelters such as Emmanuel house on hockley are obviously closed. I know a lot of community groups and faith groups have banded together and are doing great work to help these people.

Ok, I'll do my bit. Recently I've seen people sleeping in shop doorways on Mapperley Top. In the summer a bloke used to pitch a tent on Woodthorpe Park or Breck Hill. So sad to see.

Cheers Borg. Are you a new poster? Haven't seen you on here before. It's rather old school on here but it's also pretty nice. Why not tell us a bit about yourself mate. I have thought about the homeless a bit in these times. Appreciate the heads up. Will bung a donation their way soon as I can.

Rubbish to see. Sleeping in a doorway in the UK or Europe or AU just should not happen. I have seen some dark times in my life but I never slept in a doorway, so I would like to make a donation if you have a link I will send them what I can. Cheers QP.

I was approached one day by 2 people from Shelter and asked if I knew of someone who was sleeping rough on the park. I told them he up sticks and move during the day, he'd come back later and normally pitch in some of the harder to find places on the park. I never saw him or his tent again. I really hope they found him the help he needed so I suppose you could try Shelter.
