    Half Term Report

After taking just 2 points from their first 7 League games Burnley have garnered another 20 points from their next 12 PL matches. Back to back wins at Liverpool then home to Aston Villa put Burnley in 15th Place on 22 points 9 above the drop zone. 6 more wins in the second half of the season should guarantee safety but who will go down? Sheffield United despite a stirring victory at Old Trafford look destined for the drop along with West Brom. If the Baggies go down it will be a first PL relegation for BFS. Fulham currently occupy the third relegation spot but have shown enough to suggest they could pull clear. That could leave Brighton who have a very poor home record being dragged into the mix along with Newcastle whose main hope will be that Saint-Maximin stays fit and Wilson will poach enough goals. After the sackings of Bilic and Lampard expect there to be further managerial casualties this season. Buckle up Clarets and enjoy the ride!

Of course things can change, but they'll have to change drastically for us to get dragged back into the relegation battle now, right at this moment none of the bottom three are on target to get even 30 points, just three more wins and we sail past that. The bottom 3 are odds on to go down, we're 8/1 with PaddyPower, the bookies know we're not involved anymore.

Bruce must be walking on eggshells, their form has been the opposite of our own, Hendrick must be rueing his move.

I have long given up on trying to figure how our Head Teacher turns a set of unruly new term pupils into world beating 6th formers.

Is there another manager in the whole world who could take a small town team from the Championship into Europe on the relatively meagre resources made available to SD?

No, because none of the very few possessing the ability to do it would accept the budgets he's had to work with.

Your guess is as good as mine Warminster, we'll probably never know.
