    Barnsley v Swansea

It’s a Saturday night kick off next match for the Sky cameras. We are in Yorkshire for the resumption of League fixtures after the FA Cup break. Barnsley are the opposition, a team who we recently beat 2-0 at the Liberty.
Oakwell is not an easy place to go to, it’s a long trip, we drew our last game there when they were bottom of the table. This time around they are a stronger team and have a good home record.
Our squad is much depleted with loanees Viktor Gyokeres, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Kasey Palmer all recalled by their parent clubs.
Ryan Bennet, Joel Latibeaudiere, Steven Benda and Brandon Cooper are injured. Declan John and Jack Evans are transferred out. Quite a list. The next two weeks of the transfer window will be crucial in getting players in to reinforce the squad.
With the next three league matches all away from home this period in our season will be a strong test for the players.

An evening kick off away at Barnsley tonight, then away again at Blackburn next Tuesday, two tough long distance matches.
Whoever scheduled these fixtures gave no thought to the mileage involved. The players won’t get home until Sunday morning then have to leave on Monday to overnight for Tuesday’s match. What happened to the one home one away schedule?
Barnsley have improved this season under Valerian Ismael, having won five out of the last six matches before losing 1-0 at leaders Norwich last time out. They have two Welsh players, left-back Ben Williams who is out injured long term and midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies.
Swans have a central defence problem, Bennett and Latibeaudiere have been out injured last few games and now Brandon Cooper, recalled from loan at Newport, injured his ankle in training this week.
Back-up goalie Steven Benda is out long term after an operation on an ankle injury and we’ve had to sign another goalkeeper yesterday, Ben Hamer from Huddersfield Town.

First goal Cabango a lovely looping header from Roberts long throw in.
Second goal breakaway from Lowe after two of their defenders got in each other’s way, for his seventh goal in seven games.
    Happy Weekend!
