    Quote of the day

been reading about Brucie and his outburst yesterday, bemoaning the way we play and now he is going to do it his way, hes implied the team have wanted to play the defensive way Rafa had them set up, then i came across the below stat
which pretty much proves what Zip said on the other thread, he's just ranting crap

"between January 1st and Rafa's last game at the end of the season, Newcastle ranked joint 6th in the league for goals scored, 7th for chances created and 9th for shots on target.
Our 5 most regular starting attacking players were Rondon, Perez, Almiron, Atsu and Ritchie! Steve Bruce has an even better group of players to choose from, so what exactly has he been doing?"

There are many ‘throw away’ comments being made about Bruce because people are so frustrated with everything at the club. But, when you look at the facts, he is, and has been since starting the job, lost and out of his depth.
He started by being defensive, then tried (briefly) the team attacking more which failed and then reverted quickly and maintained the ultra negative style we see currently.
He has blamed everything (Rafa, VAR, the players’ inconsistently and now, the players’ attitude) and has only meekly accepted any responsibility himself for a poor result in one recent interview.
He has chopped and changed formations and post match excuses on a weekly basis, just hoping that something would click and now we have the admission that he’s been letting the players decide how to play despite promising front foot football from the start.
At any club apart from SDFC he would be gone and at most, would never have been hired.

completely agree with every word of that mate. What kind of message is he sending out to the players? HE! is in the position to impose HIS terms on them, yes he should listen to them and take on board their opinion, but ultimately, he is the manager who gets judged on the results plain and simple.

I really dont think Monday's team selection and formation will be much different from what we see anyway, Bruce talks a good game, and has a ready made excuse as if he is a fan, but i genuinely believe he has lost the fans and players.

I 100% guarantee He will go to a 4-4-2 on Monday, we will start brightly, and look decent, then we will concede and fall back to 10 men behind the ball.

I would rather see us really have a go and get beaten 5-0 than this shlte we have seen for the last year and a half

He’s bemoaned having to play Rafa’s way before and blamed the fans and players then.
Truth is he is clueless about tactics and I’m sure is starting to lose the dressing room, if he hasn’t then comments this week won’t help.
It’s going to get worse before it gets any better.

There's alist doing the rounds of all the clubs he's either walked away from or 'left by mutual consent'.

He's as accomplished a bullshitter as Pardew-and that's saying something.

    Totally agree.
