    Our centre halves

Both were immense on Saturday. I've not always been keen on Bartley, but I do think he's better in a 4 at the back and he does have the attributes of a good defender.

Also, it says a lot that I don't think our centre halves have been that bad this season. The reason we concede so many goals has largely been because of the rest of the side and mostly because they have a midfield that doesn't protect them.

Tend to agree with this. Little help from midfield.

So correct! Bartley makes the odd error but he was superb on Saturday. Livermore and Sawyers offer zero. We need Gallagher back Tuesday with Snodgrass and then what about Krov to provide the creativity with those two or even Field?

Said this for some time. Yacob was never replaced.

I've thought for a while Field is the best holding midfielder at the club. If he's fit - and he was on the bench on Saturday, then I would bring him and Gallagher in for Livermore and Sawyers.

All the signs are saying Krov's loan will be cut short this month, so I don't think he'll be around for much longer

I hear that Krovinovich is on his way out to free up funds for incomers. I like Krov as a player but don’t think we’ve made the best use of his creative talents.

Our greatest ever centre half was John Wile, what a commanding presence on the field he had. Who can ever forget the Wile v Jordan battles. Never had anyone like him since.

Loved Wile Phil and remember being at Highbury for the semi final and all his head was bandaged up! Mind you I was bandaged up after the game after being attacked and thrown through Chelsea Girl. Those were the days!

Yes John Wile would be my first pick but who to play alongside? I was always a massive fan of our other bloodied hero Johnny Kaye but that means no room for Ali Rob. Surely not.

These players were in a different era to me. As many on here saw both, how did Wile & Kaye compare to say Jonny Evans & McCauley? Those two are probably the best defenders I've seen at the Albion in my lifetime.
