    Steve Cotterill

I saw this on Facebook a couple of days ago.

For some unfathomable reason quite a lot of Burnley fans don't appreciate the work Steve did while he was with us.

Some of the transfer dealings he did probably kept us in business and helped get us to where we are today.

I wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

Hope he makes a complete recovery, but Cotterball, I was living France at the time and so missed most of it. My sister, who had an ST, saw every game and told me to stay where I was, it was dire.

Coincidentally I was living abroad too during his tenure, my last season ticket was with Stan then I went to Crete late in 2003 so also missed him.

Where did you stay in Crete? My wife and I went to Crete on holiday three times in the 1990s. We went to Rethymnon first, then Hersonissos and finally Maleme. I took time on that visit to take a look at the World War 2 battlefield at Maleme.

We lived in Elounda not too far from Hersonissos. We did visit Maleme for a few days and went to the two war cemeteries.
