    Cardiff result rubbish for the Millers, Cardiff manager Harris could be on borrowed time.

    Nonsense.
    It appears that as soon as the Villa defender "deliberately" played/controlled the ball it played the Man City player onside.

    However to quote Shankley (?)

    "If he's not interfering with play, what's he doing on the pitch ?"

    Nonsense decision

    Yes it was Bill Shankly

    Brian Clough said a similar thing “that if any of his players weren’t interfering with play at all times they shouldn’t be paid”

    Even Guardiola said he wouldn’t have been happy it if was the other way round

    Apparently By the letter of the law, Rodri's goal was legitimate.

    In a statement, the group representing Premier League referees said: "As soon as Mings deliberately played the ball the following law applies:

    "A player in an offside position receiving the ball from an opponent who deliberately plays the ball, including by deliberate handball, is not considered to have gained an advantage, unless it was a deliberate save by any opponent.

    "As the Law deems that Rodri has not gained an advantage, he has not committed an offside offence and play should be allowed to continue. Rodri legitimately took possession of the ball from Mings, starting the attack which resulted in the goal."

    FA rule book;
    a player moving from, or standing in, an offside position is in the way of an opponent and interferes with the movement of the opponent towards the ball this is an offside offence if it impacts on the ability of the opponent to play or challenge for the ball; if the player moves into the way of an opponent and impedes the opponent's progress (e.g blocks the opponent) the offence should be penalised under Law 12
    a player in an offisde position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence
    an offence is committed against a player in an offside position who is already playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the offside offence is penalised as it has occurred before the foul challenge
