    Popeye

Man of the Match and best goalie in England which everybody knows apart from Southgate.

He did himself proud tonight Alf, its got to go a long way for any ordinary Manager, but then Southgate is nowhere near ordinary.

Was brilliant again tonight behind a team which was also brilliant. A couple of dodgy throws out which weren't needed, however, those apart, tremendous display and Tom Heaton agreed!

This is his problem though, his goalkeeping ability is undisputable, what keeps him out of the England team is his distribution, and those two throws last night just confirmed his problems in this area. Brilliant as he was in last night's game, those two throw outs just cemented Pickford's place in the England team.

They really were astonishingly gash sinkov. WTF was he thinking?

Sadly it just confirms what the media say, his distribution is suspect and that's why Gareth prefers Pickford. Gareth will have watched last night's game and those two throws will just have had the alarm bells about Nick clanging at the back of his head louder than ever.

And let's be realistic, if he did that playing for England the press boys would crucify him, and they'd crucify Southgate for picking him, knowing that he was liable to do something like that.

If he could only improve that occasionally wayward distribution he would be absolutely top notch. His command of his area is exceptional.
