No bullets from me, you are dead right sinkov.
It's the one single flaw in his game and like you, I reckon that is why he will never get a full England cap.
I nearly fell off my comfy chair last night when Ben was declared MOM on Sky, how Pope didn't get it I'll never know. Of course he had a good game, of course his return to the side has improved our results, of course he's a good captain and leader, but he STILL throws one in virtually every game. It's long been a trait of Ben's, in fact ever since he arrived, which is a long time ago now, he's been liable to do it, you'd think he'd have managed to cut it out of his game by now, but no, he stills drops these clangers on a regular basis, and when he does, they're always fecking great big ones.
Fortunately he's on a lucky run at the moment, he would have got Brady a red card against United but Shaw saved him, and Origi got him off the hook last night. It's something we'll just have to live with but I suspect it's why he'll never play for England.
I shall now get my tin hat from under the stairs and settle down behind the settee.

Don’t know many CB’s who will put their head in against a flying boot or point blank pile driver. Occasionally error prone yes but brave as a lion!
Captain Fantastic.Since he's come back we have been a much better team. I'm willing to put up with his odd mistake as he pulls the team together. A great player who will be talked as a legend in later years.. You are right though Sinky,if the guy had scored it would have been a different result. Time we had a lucky break or two.. Surprised we got the penalty as well.
Because he's a good defender when he does make a mistake it's more noticeable and could cost us. Forwards can make mistakes all day but they are ignored if they get a goal.
If he did not have those flaws and makes the odd mistake then he would not be playing for us because apart from that he is the most consistent and brave player in the team who unlike Tarks does not have ideas above his station.
I agree about Ben, a smashing player who, because of his involvement in the game, will always be prone to the odd error, possibly because he is organising the other defenders as well as doing his own job.
Tarks is a decent player but I feel that he does switch off from time to time and this is where Ben keeps him going.
No complaints from me about either of them because they both put a shift in.
