    Players Out - Players In

Seems to me - more players are going out ( Austin, Harper, Krov ) than coming in!! Perhaps there's a diamond signing on the way to us!!!

    What do you think?

Too little to late, we need to start playing Premiership top six form to get out of this and with our defence that ain’t gonna happen, we should be rebuilding for next season not looking at players like Benteke.

It is imperative that we get at least three more players in because, as already said, we've lost Austin, Harper and Krovinovic. Not only is our squad lacking in quality but also in numbers. After the starting X1 is picked there's very little quality on the bench. The one question I would like to ask though is, why isn't Field being given a chance? Surely he has to be a better option to Sawyers as he has a much more imposing physical presence which is what we require. He may not be that quick but has to more so than Sawyers. Don't get it!

This should be called the player's out thread, or the eyeing, monitoring, tracking thread. We are waiting for the fat kid nobody else wants.

Do you remember the days at school in the playground when ‘sides’ were selected ? All lined up and the ‘captains’ alternated to make their selections. So sad for those who remained towards the end.

You hoped to get first pick so you could pick the best outfield player and then if there was someone who was crap out but liked to play in goals you would pick him next so you did not have to take your turn in goals. First one to ten, always try and kick up hill first half and change round at 5. Jumpers for goalposts and the arguments over if the ball was in or post or over or under the imaginary bar. Great days. We would play for hours on end Saturdays and Sundays. Sunday morning, home for dinner and back up the park in the afternoon. You did not have to make arrangements as you knew that if it was not belting down with rain a load of your mates would be up the park.

But that's the fact of life. Sad now schools feel the need to mix abilities with academics and sport so kids don't feel they are worthless. If there are four teams for sport the strongest A, B,C and D team should be selected. Many parents still campaign to get rid of the very few state grammar schools as their view is - it weakens all the other schools in the area by creaming off the brightest kids.

If little Johnny is a bright spark and good at sport - then it should not be held back. Extension work some teachers say to stretch those who are bright - it's bollox and rarely happens as more help goes to the kids who struggle.
