We have enough capable players, but none of them is a Sutton or a Higdon; a lot is now hanging on what Harry Smith can do for us, but one way or another the ball has to find its way into the opposition net more often than it is at the moment. And we could do with a break or two; Andy Considine got the break of the ball; so did the Dons defender who should have given away a penalty; I await with some interest the full Polworth story.
On another issue which has been exercising us since Pittodrie. Watching FA Cup games, it's obvious that only sending one player out to short corners is gaining ground; I'd like to hear the theory behind it.

So would I because it strikes me as being absolutely mental. Given there was nothing wrong with their middle goal, we effectively conceded twice from four (I think) short corners we let them march into our box unchallenged.

but we've been doing that for years; so whats new? Opposing players have been allowed to do that and not just from short corners.

Until Saturday we certainly didn't send one player out to get walked past 2v1 at short corners, we did what everyone did (until recently apparently) and sent two so that didn't happen.

Not rushing out to the winger and letting him cross almost unchallenged is a another argument, you can agree with it or not but the balance of risk is totally different - indeed, it avoids precisely the scenario we invited on ourselves above!
