    O/T - The Three Kings

Just watched on Amazon Prime. Documentary on Busby, Shankly and Stein. Absolutely essential watching and Oor Jum was totally hewn from the same granite. Modern players should certainly watch and learn of the benefits of hard work, dedication, loyalty, respecting your Club’s fan base and continuing to strive to get better and better and better. The last thing football should be about is the pay cheque.

Absolute legends the three of them.

Watching it now...interesting that Shankly’s first two outstanding, and key signings (and ones he demanded from the board) were Ron Yeats from Dundee United and Ian St John from Motherwell.
    Never knew that, Wow!

Ron Yeats was The Rock that Jerry Kerr built our 1959 promotion winning team around and who then contributed toward our stabilisation in the top division. Shankly bought him, immediately installed him as Liverpool captain and described him at his unveiling as a ‘man mountain’. For helping get us up and kicking off a series of events which just over 20 years later saw us crowned Champions of Scotland, the man is deserving of a place in our Hall of Fame.

Totally agree mate, just never realised how much of an impact our wee club, had on such a big club and legendary manager, back in the 60’s!
Impressive stuff, as was that documentary, and three great Scots had such an influence on Scottish and British football, and doubt we’ll ever see that quality again, not unlike what we witnessed in the 80’s for our club, just so glad i personally witnessed what I did, because it will sadly never be repeated. Shed Rule!
