The best way to stop these lockbreakers would be to sent unmasked people with covid round to the houses / families of said revellers to ensure at least they and their kin were exposed to the virus. Then let nature take its course. Perhaps then they will take the lockdown seriously
Can’t help feeling the Stamford Hill School wedding scenario just shows how thick people are.

Not only was it utterly irresponsible and totally insensitive (the school’s headteacher died of Coronavirus last year), but how could they possibly expect to get away with hosting an event for 400 people in a public building that was meant to be shut?
You can’t fix stupid and this is what we’re up against.

Farage’s anti lockdown ‘crusade’ just about sums the cretin up for me...but I do wish the media would stop asking ‘when will schools open?’
For once I feel some sympathy for the Government (best sit down GP)...and I almost wish Johnson or Hancock would just say...’look we don’t ....in’ know yet, but it won’t be until we have control of the virus.

Not (just) thick, also not prepared to accept the laws of the land when it cuts across the laws of their faith/culture. I usually stick up for them in the face of a lot of Ill informed crap but this was bloody awful

It's one of the arguements against having giving out a blanket £500 to anyone who gets covid. You'll have people deliberately trying to get it and even some who have got it, offering to give it to others for a fee.

You would argue that nobody could be that stupid, but I wouldn't bet against it, sadly.

Every faith, community, race, political party in fact any grouping of human beings will have people who think the rules don't apply to them.

The conundrum of course is if we were all sheep (not rams fans) then the human race would soon become extinct, or at the very least not innovate and develop as we have.

If people didn't break rules and obeyed all norms then country's would remain under the yoke of imperialists and corrupt dictators. Football teams would be composed only of boring hard working players with no fancy dans to thrill and dismay crowds in equal measure.

A quiet night in Clogland last night. 17 arrests in Rotterdam. The police set up at strategic points and checked everybody going into the city. Charges range from not having ID (everybody aged 14 and over has to be able to show valid ID at all times) to weapon possession.

In Maastricht 200 MVV fans hit the streets. Interviewed by reional TV, one of them said "They were fine with people demonstrating but all that plundering? Not in our city!"

A group of NAC fans in Breda also took to the streets and the rioters were conspicuous by their absence.

Similar scenes in other towns. As curfew time approached the police had a quiet word, thanked the "lads" for their "assistance" and reminded them that they had to be home by 9. The lads went home quietly.

Extraordinary actions by often vilified football fans. Counter intuitive, you'd have guessed in this country that they would be at the fore of the looting. Mind you, they still might be here...

Similar actions WERE vilified here during the BLM riots.

I surmise the reference is to those who, for example, assembled to protect various statuary, cultural assets and retail outlets from both BLM protestor or casual looters who affiliated with BLM in order to plunder
