    V Burnley

Knowing how they play, we need to beat this rabble using our brains, skill and speed while counter attacking.
Stay clear of any knocks, they knobbled two of our players this time last season 😡
Keep the ball down, play to the wings, aim for the box so their hackers can give away penalties. They are a horrible team to watch, no tactics just hoof ball.
As for the team, SJM back for Naky but keep in Traore and Barks. Team picks itself really!

Definitely Dave. Marvelous will not have the same room against this lot as he did against a half-interested Newcastle. SJM makes his own space and is a diamond of a player.

Tough game ahead, a bit of a litmus test as to where we are.

Well as expected, SJM in for Marvelous, as the only change.

Picks itself really. Great to see a Manager not scared to keep picking his strongest line up and not 'Tinkering'
No Guilbert in the bench so can assume he is as good as gone, shame.
Naky, unkucky, you cannot keep SJM out but he will have to step up his game with Naky's last performance and Sansom coming in...

I'm speechless, we went from Real Madrid to Croyden FC. As soon as Jack put us 2-1 up, Nakamba should have been on, we got bullied and fell apart and eventually lost to hoofball fc, gutted and angry.😡🙈

We are just not clinical enough, but it will come with a few signings in the summer.

This little kick up the ar5e is just to remind fans that we are a work in progress. Progress being the operative word.

In time, we will turn all these chances into goals.

Barkley offering very little when he is out of possession.

Smith should have hooked Barkley off as soon as we went back in front & brought on Nakamba

God knows why we played the long ball second half it played straight into their hands.

Mings is always trying to play the "Hollywood Ball" missing out the midfield all together

As well as we played 1st half that second half was atrocious. Typical of us this season losing to scrappy bottom half teams. Very frustrating to watch.

I wouldn’t persevere with Barkley when we’re on top he’s fine however he doesn’t do anywhere near enough when we need to dig in/out a result

Is Barkley of the opinion that he can play/coast against battlers like Burnley

Smith needs players with total commitment- which Sanson reputedly is

    Stay safe everyone !!

Beats me why we are happy to boot the ball out for a corner or give away silly freekicks and then cannot defend them, zonal marking does not work!
Ps still licking my wounds and wondering how we managed to lose!

As yet we are not yet collectively good enough to finish off a good defensive unit, (we haven’t been for years) but we’re getting there. We haven’t purchased one ‘all-star’, and only have one player in that bracket. The manager is trying to mould a team of ‘promising’ players into ‘all-stars’. That’s the route that AVFC has chosen to take.

OK, we seem to be a little ahead of schedule, but at a Club like ours, we should be building on progress. We should not be leaping into the world of entitlement, on the back of a couple of unlucky results.

We played well for 60mins (2 thirds of the game) 10 days after returning from Covid. Against a team fresh from winning at Anfield, we should have won, we didn’t, but hopefully, we’ll learn.

Fans of Citeh, Urinal, Dippers, Ar5e, and Chelski are prime examples of the ‘instant gratification’ spoilt little brats, that are poisoning society. Clubs are throwing millions at the problem, giving in to the wailing sycophants of social media entitlement.

Let’s not get dragged into that shameless group of fkcuwits. Although I fear that many already have, judging by the reaction elsewhere.

It’s no one’s fault that we lost. Sean Dyche just out-thought our tactics and made changes. Fair play to him and his team.

Learn and move on. Work in progress.
