Always think he looks a fish out of water in midfield but at centre back I never even notice he is there because he looks so much more natural.

Hope he gets more time there than in midfield, want to see him really develop into a top quality centre back because he clearly has potential, wonder how many other PL sides are winning games with a 21 year old at centre back and a 20 year old between the sticks!

It is amazing how he hasn't done anything wrong but he refused to play him till heavy injury toll caught up Meslier anyone.
Big lad solid as a rock so he may look a little slow but it might be just his actions appear him that way as he is cool as a cucumber.

100% but suspect the time playing on CDM will make him a better CB.

Love his physical presence but with composure on the ball. Seems to read the game well too.

He played well today (against Leicester) and looked much more assured than Cooper who is increasingly a cause for concern.

Looks like CB pair for the next 5-6 years could easily be Struijk and Koch.

Coupled with Phillips and Meslier starting to put together a strong spine in the team going forward.

Looking forward to seeing. If we play more youngsters once safety is assured.

Now don't laugh at this....but he will probably not consider the youngsters either until a Europa spot is definitely out of reach. Not saying that I think that can happen !... but win 4 or 5 in reasonably quick succession, and who knows ?

If we win 4 or 5 in a row he may be looking for a champions League
