    Tanner Fund update

See below the latest update from the QoS Tanner Fund

    TANNER FUND UPDATE

We have had several conversations with the Board over the last week to ascertain if they would require the TF's input for funds or wages.

Obviously this season we are facing uncertainties like no other and in line with keeping the club operating within its business constraints and model, they have asked if we could hold on and keep fundraising until they rebuild for next season. The club confirmed that it has adequate funds to strengthen this window as Allan looked to find players that can bolster the squad in the right positions

The club understands the frustrations of the fans wanting to help, however they cannot justify taking YOUR money just now and would rather we kept our powder dry to have the funds available for future transfer windows, preparing for the long term effects of COVID as it certainly isn't going away anytime soon.

The Tanner Committee do understand the clubs point, as we face so much uncertainty in the current climate, spending cash that they didn't have to doesn't make business sense. We find this as a positive within the relationship that they didn't request funds 'just because'. AJ is working to find players that he believes will bolster the squad and as the club is happy that it has the funds to support him then we are happy with their stance, having seeing a few players arrive so far

We know all of the amazing contributors are dying to see the Fund get involved and kick onto the next stage, and we know that in any other season we would have been moving now. We hope that you are in agreement with where we are, and seeing the positives this provides, it really does give us a war chest for the club to use in preparation for 21/22 season.

We have had a good few discussions within the Committee in regards to the amount of cash that we are armed with and if we should announce this, taking the TF Pledge into consideration. This is a hugely different scenario from when we started and the knock on effects that COVID has had in line with us starting to physically contribute to the club. Personally I am gutted that we aren't contributing and I know you ALL will be as you have all gave your hard earned cash hoping for this to be used. We have come to the conclusion that just to emphasise how amazing you guys have been in just over a year, that we should let you all know how amazing the Tanner Fund has done and what we as a group can achieve, striving to help the club that we all love.

To that end, I am happy to announce that after just over a year and with 75 members, we have raised a phenomenal £14,875.69. That's an amazing average of nearly £200 per year per person... now imagine what the chest will look like in the summer....Yes the discussion was there to keep everything zip tight, but we believe for the sake of encouragement and a huge well done that letting you know how well your efforts have done was justifiable.

We are very much looking forward to watch Queens continue with the much improved form this season and then using this as a spring board into next season with our help.

If you would like to discuss anything Tanner Fund with us, please drop an email to QoSTannerFund@Hotmail.com or PM us on here.

Together, we most certainly can make a difference.

Must admit that’s a very impressive amount of money raised by the tanner fund members especially during these difficult and uncertain times.

Can’t see any other supporters groups raising figures like that per year. Probably the closest will be the superbly run BarFlies guys.

This is a brilliant and heartwarming effort by around 76 Queens fans contributors . I dont think the Tanner Fund have a definite target as such of what to do with the money on the subject of bolstering Queens but what ' a problem' to have . Conversation's with Queens continue as regards to this subject. The money is building up like a reserve army and will be used to good effect when that time comes . If you feel you can donate - no matter how small an amount - then please give joining the Tanner Fund a consideration.

hey Jrsleftspeg. I’m glad you’re posting on here again. Always one of the better posters on this site.

Fully agree with your comments regarding the tanner fund. It’s a great idea and that’s a very good amount of money raised already. Great to read they’re also working closely with the Board at Palmerston. If ever a fan representation happens at Queens then it should come from one of these guys.
