So lockdown works for those viruses but not covid?
A scientist guy being interviewed on talk.
Usual things that I agree with 're lockdown but then he threw in something at the end that I've no heard up to now.
He said that there was a reasonable chance that next winters normal viruses will be much more virulent because we have been in lockdown (he said hiding away) for so long......ie herd immunity to them will have been diluted and the viruses that will be "desperate to survive" (his words) they will be more transmissible.
Was always wondering where they would find the excuse to lockdown next winter......that might just be it.
So lockdown works for those viruses but not covid?
Don't understand the logic, if there is dilution due to lockdown, another lockdown will surely increase the dilution ?
I get my first jab tomorrow, and second one should be about May, if there are lockdowns next winter, l think there will be
Civil disobedience from me.
Lockdowns do not control the virus, only people's habits and behaviour.
All governments have said vaccine is the key, hence the squabbling between governments regarding vaccine deliveries.
The government have kept changing the goalposts, but once the majority are vaccinated, there are no excuses,
Enough is enough.
Scotland could be out of lockdown right now but it's never going to happen when we share a border with a country still struggling to deal with the virus albeit their cases have came right down since December. Another 1700 deaths in England's care homes last week due to their botched vaccine rollout, though, so they still have a long way to go. Once Scotland's top priority groups have been vaccinated fully, which should be around May, even the control freak SNP will struggle to keep a lid on restrictions.
Why dosent sturgeon call out the Scottish Resistance to help with the rollout.😁
I'd like to see that.
