It is likely their underlying immune issue would have presented at some stage - although unlikely to be in a severe way like it has done. That is why it is the younger end of the age ranges that are affected though.

It does remain a safe treatment for the majority of people and the thought to consider alternative drug in under 30s is entirely a pragmatic, and likely sensible, solution to make sure we continue to hit the high numbers vaccinated that we are doing. Hopefully the reporting doesnt reduce confidence in the vaccination programme. It is still our only way out of this.

Chick's updates are outstanding, really good reading and show exactly the impact the vaccination programme is having. Enjoy reading these, thanks for collating.
I think i need to see more information on who is suffering the most from the clotting issue, because as is usual, only part of the story is being put out there by the media.

I have to say you made me blush with the last bit, but i have to say that i hope this reporting is coming to a natural end if we end up getting back to some sort of normality.

On the day we exceeded 500,000 second doses, it is a good time to reflect on the fact its been 10 weeks since this occurred for first dose, and we are now past 2.6 million mark with first doses!

Dose 1 vaccination progress by age group. Dose 2 reported as appropriate.
    Over 80s, 98% (97.9) – 49.8% (47.5)
    75-79, 100% - 23.1% (20.4)

Missed a night again so here is 2 days progress again.

Dose 1 vaccination progress by age group. Dose 2 reported as appropriate.
    Over 80s, 98% – 55.5% (52.8) (49.8)
    75-79, 100% - 30.2% (26.9) (23.1)
    70-74, 100%
    65-69, 98.5%
    60-64, 100% (99.8)
    55-59, 94.8% (94) (93)
    50-54, 79.4% (77.6) (75.9)
    40-49, 35% (34.6) (34.3)
    30-39, 24.7% (24.4) (24.2)
    16-29, 16% (15.8)% (15.7)

Daily new infections are below 300 for another day in this week, and 7 day average for that has also dropped below the 300 mark.

I know i keep bring this one up, but its importance cannot be ignored in the first figure for getting us into Tiers, and again its in answer to to what Affshore asked a while back. If you look at the old parameters that were set for Local Authority Tiers, all bar Clackmannan would would be eligible to be below level 2! By what is rumoured to be the new parameters, then 10 in Tier 0, 14 in Tier 1, 7 in Tier 2, and 1 in Tier 3!

Dose 1 vaccination progress by age group. Dose 2 reported as appropriate.
    Over 80s, 98% – 58% (55.5)
    75-79, 100% - 31.8% (30.2)
    70-74, 100% - 10.1%
    65-69, 98.6% (98.5)
    60-64, 100%
    55-59, 95.3% (94.8)
    50-54, 81.3% (79.4)
    40-49, 35.3% (35)
    30-39, 24.9% (24.7)
    16-29, 16.1% (16)

This week should see 60% of all adults in Scotland having received their first dose, then hopefully after that, a wee blue envelope will drop through my letterbox, and i will gladly add to the effort!

Wonder if we will start to see a rise in England in next week or so? Cities were chocked no masks no distancing - doubt many have had a jab due to age group.
