For what its worth now, I dont think its all done and dusted yet, but the JCVI has gone the way i thought they would, and Gov.Scot are sticking to it like they have done from the start.

I have to ask why front line Police, Fire-Fighters, Teachers, people who travel for work like yourself and essential shop staff are not getting ahead start in this, because how long at full flow would it take to get them sorted? 10-14 days? Would also make a huge dent in Cohort 10 plus in the process.

Sorry TTT, you cannot use the information in that link to prove a case for denying teachers a vaccine!

Ask a few questions and you might soon realise that teachers were removed from most if the risk between March to August last year.
    Not all schools were open,
Groups of schools were arranged into hubs, you were lucky there was 20 kids of essential workers in each hub,
ALL the teachers link to the hub were on a rota for attending hubs or online support done at their school or home,
Teachers and staff who were at risk were working from home and isolating.

Im sure if i wanted to, i could go on, but that is surely enough to say that the figures presented in the link are not worth the data, because i doubt they considered the circumstances surrounding them!

What would you rather have? A vaccine going to waste, or the chance to get ahead of the game and ensure that as many vaccines as possible are getting into peoples arms?

I know for a FACT, that the people who are getting this are in roles that i think should be a priority just now, or in the next Cohort to be dealt with.

What I'd have rather had was this to be common knowledge so we could all get the chance to get an early vaccine as opposed to it being something that looks like it's been done on the slim shady to suit people of a certain profession.

And if it was common knowledge, what would you think the consequences could be? Every single entitled muppet would be along demanding they were more important than the next because i need to see Brittney roon the corner!

Like i said before, it is going to people who i feel should be getting theirs already.

However, i think whoever is organizing this should be a bit more proactive in creating a list of reserves as excess vaccine availability is a daily occurrence for various reasons.

    Muppet?

Why not have some kind of database where people can register themselves & their occupation etc. Then these folk can be put on a reserve list. There are people higher in the 'occupational risk' category than teachers. Bus drivers, factory workers etc. It doesn't have to be a free-for-all for all the 'muppets' like myself who'd like to be vaccinated. There are ways it could be managed.

Fair enough but that's the published data whether you agree with it or not. I'm not sure what else decisions can be made with, anecdotes?

I suspect all this is exactly why the JCVI are advising against it, too hard.

In terms of the next stage, I'm all for it going by age. In terms of 'what seems like' allowing teachers to turn up during the day, it seems a bit unfair when there are others more at risk. Maybe anyone can turn up and 'register' but I haven't heard otherwise.
