This is exactly the time when the Government should shut down all modes of travel in and out of the UK. The UK as an island would have a fantastic chance to bring this completely under control on British soil. Failure to do so risks any new variants being allowed to spread through the population

Unless they do the 10 nights isolation but what supported from afar is gonna pay the £1750 for 10 nights in hotel jail on top of flight costs plus accommodation once released, match ticket etc. You’re talking about £3000 before you’ve even had a pint!

Canna see any fans getting in the country unless it’s the 10 night rule

If we do open the gates then f ucking hell mend the government and there should be massive kickback

Can see Scotland and Eire losing their games due to respective government rulings but Boris allowing unlimited crowds down there and England 'pinching' the games set for Scotland/Eire. It would be pretty ironic if the UKs cases rise due to the Euros and we in Scotland end up with more cases due to Scotland/England cross border spreading. Unfortunately for us I reckon that this summer is too quick for such a widely spread tournament if mass movements of spectators are allowed. Behind closed doors, in a bubble in one country makes more sense to me.

With what we’ve been through the last twelve months, how can anyone come away with ‘you must tell us now that you will allow supporters into the games’

Surely this tournament is going to be played behind closed doors? Or with very limited crowds at best?

I would argue that the time to have shut the borders was last March...

I think the root issue is the money that is involved in this, and UEFA want their wedge despite the problems that the world is trying to put behind it, and are willing to fock it all up. Sadly, Boris has shown on too many occasions that money/economy will be put ahead of peoples lives, and maybe has shown his hand in relation to this already with the rush to get England open again.

I had my fingers crossed that we would see under 500 as a new daily infection figure, but 500 will have to do! Is 7 day averages going 500 - 400 - 300 - 200 - 100 over the next few weeks too much to ask for?

    Over 80s, 97% (96.9)
    75-79, 98.8% (98.7)
    70-74, 99.3% (99.2)
    65-69, 95.3% (95)
    60-64, 37.4% (36)
    55-59, 31.5% (30.2)
    50-54, 25.8% (24.7)
    40-49, 19.7% (18.9)
    30-39, 13.6% (13.2)
    16-29, 8.7% (8.4)

Cohort 1.1 Dose 1, Older residents in care homes - estimate exceeded,
    Cohort 1.1 Dose 2, 53% (50) (48) Older residents in care homes

Within the above, 99% dose 1, 50% (48?) (45) dose 2 of all adults in all care homes were also vaccinated.
