The Salmond and Sturgeon war is a classic. Half of Scotland believes that Salmond was guilty and he thus is tainted. Half of Scotland believes Sturgeon lied to the Scottish Parliament / encouraged the case to be brought against Salmond and thus whatever happens she is tainted. Sturgeon's farcical ideas for a post-UK future concerning fiscal policies / currency / application to join the EU without committing to the compulsory entry to the Euro Zone are being ridiculed. The SNP is split on numerous matters and political enemies have a lot of scope. Political opportunists in the SNP also have scope to take over its corpse.

Many years ago I put a question to a mate of mine. He was / is a Blackpool supporter. When given the conundrum of what he wished for whenever Preston North End played Blackburn Rovers he found a solution such that the match should be a draw and, both sides having played an ineligible player, they should each get a point deducted. Thus stand Salmond, Sturgeon and the SNP.
