Squad rotation was generally successful last season, but I guess we had more players to choose from and perhaps the manager trusted the fringe players more than he does this season’s bunch? Far from ideal that we had to play both Lacey and Rawlinson against Oxford City, especially after the latter’s heroics against Stockport in the previous game.
He didn't have to play Lacey and Rawlson in the Mickey mouse build a bear trophy..
He could have blooded the youth team pairing or used his fringe teamers but played them out of position at centre back....
Either way he could have protected his main centre backs from the strain off over playing which is now his compliant.

But if he had thrown a youth player into the starting XI due to the very late in the day injury to Turner and he didn't play well and we lost. Then we all know what the narrative would be on here post match. It would mini meltdown #137 because we lost to a side from a league below!

Remember Ken there are lots of people who care about this build a bear competition a lot more than you do. We've established that, appears the club also care and respect it more.

The physio, manager and coaches spot signs of fatigue in players long before us fans do watching it on a stream.

Of course some more elderly supporters still can't get their head around fatigue and the problem of playing so many games in a short period of time. They think it's all made up by managers, and that it's simply an excuse.

I really dont think the narrative on here matters to Ardley, or it shouldn't.
If it had , he would have changed his negative ways long before now.
He had 2 options to protect his league pairing centre backs from fatigue, he ignored both the options...
To then complain about fatigue on them seems rather stupid.

Completely agree he won't care are about the armchair experts on NCM and what they think. Why should he?

My point being is you, me, anyone on here can spin any decision made by any Notts manager after the event anyway they like. Positive or negative.

If we had thrown in a youngster and lost, someone could say "well you wanted to see if the Youth players are ready and good enough for first team action" and "well Rawlinson looks fatigued so at least he gets a much needed rest" and we can both have a very good guess at the likely replies to those comments.

We had drawn and lost the previous two games, maybe he just wanted to give himself the best chance of making sure we won the game and therefore didn't go with youth.

Football management is easy after the event, and when you assume an alternative choice not selected would automatically work. That's a huge assumption often made on here.

The point is he is complaining about fatigue.
He had two options to combat this..
    He chose his own option.
He lives and dies by his decisions..
As you say whatever his reasons were only he knows.
What I'm saying is fact..he had 2 other options but he chose to expose his centre backs.
If they crash and burn it might prove to be a costly mistake hey...
We could talk all night about the reasons why he did what he did, but that ain't getting us nowhere baby...as meatloaf would sing..

Exactly he's paid to make the decisions, he has to make team selection decisions every single week of the season and as we know at present twice a week. Some he will get right, some he will get wrong. "That's life, that's what all the people say"

He could I guess have rested the Rawlinson/Lacey partnership earlier than he intended to against Oxford City but they were looking so formidable. They say "you don't change a winning side", if it ain't broke (the defence) don't fix it" etc.

Both players were in such good form a change to the stating XI at the centre back position wouldn't have gone down well.

Decisions , decisions and no benefit of hindsight. Tough job being a manager of a professional football club.

I agree with this. When NA was interviewed after the Kings Lynne loss he albut blamed Turner for getting injured before the Oxford cup game and thus wrecking his rotation plans. That is just a poor excuse and not honest. He wudnt have played him against KL anyway!!
