    Three changes in Paisley

O'Donnell and Campbell return and there's a first start for Roberts. Johnson, Long and Polworth move to the bench.

Not dropping the bold Tyler will prove a mistake.

The team looks crap but I find it hard to be too critical, there wasn't a good XI available from what we had.

If you'd watched that without context, it was rubbish.

With the injury situation and last two games though it was a vast improvement. No cutting edge but plenty of fight and we almost nicked it.

Going to be a tense few weeks coming up.

We've got to be happy with the improvement. With any luck a few more regulars will be available for Saturday. When did we last make no use of substitutes?

One or two of the guys were a wee bit shaky to start with, but improved markedly as the game went on. I think that the commentators were right; there was a lot less fancy stuff at the back; we did what most of the other teams do - any sign of trouble, hoof the ball clear and reset. Leave the tika-taka to Barcelona.
Not pretty, but a very valuable and hard - earned point.

Yep, there was 'none of this Real Madrid pish Motherwell', to quote one tactical genius from the East Stand, at the back but we did at least try to play a bit in their third. Very little cutting edge mind.

I thought Roberts did well, contributed more than Long in the last couple of games, and Crawford - given a clear and limited role - was much improved. SOD, much maligned, helped settle the defence a lot.

As said, this was a very limited performance but play like that in the next eight games and we'll be a top-flight team next season.

Better than expected tonight. One swallow and all that, but every point is a prisoner just now, so feeling more positive.
