    Throw ins

Do you think Dyche might have had them working on them this week,we are abysmal at them. ..We can produce good cornered ,yet can't find a man to throw the ball to when we get them. I find it really frustrating watching us end up passing the ball all the way back to Popeye in goal instead of moving forwards up the field ..

Our players don't seem to realise you can't be offside from a throw in.

I agree Alf, even Mrs S has picked up on it, and we have a little cheer together on the rare occasions we retain the ball from one of our throw-ins. I get fed up of saying 'just what do they do down Gawthorpe all week' ?

It reminds me as well of the time when Micky Mellon was playing for us. From a throw in you'd think every player would try to find a bit of space, get away from a marker, but I started to notice that every time we had a throw, if Micky was in space, he'd go and stand next to an opponent. I could never work this out, maybe it was some sort of cunning plan, the point of which eluded me, but I could never see us gain anything from it, I just thought it was bizarre.

It's not rocket science is it finding space..Another thing as well I'd we very rarely take quick throw ins.. Alto was moaning about the throw ins as well during the match on Saturday saying just what goes on down at Gawthorpe. Makes you wonder.hmm

I mentioned our poor throw in prowess last summer... Nothing has changed so they must be happy with it.... Taylor takes an age...

There's something to be said for a player who can throw the ball half the width of the pitch, it can cause havoc when you're in your opponents half.

I remember a time when Rory Delap was Stoke City's chief attacking weapon. Our lot can't throw it five yards.

....saying just what goes on down at Gawthorpe????

Alf, I am convinced we do not have a coaching staff.

Perhaps what they do there is stick stick's in the ground and run between them, or the same with cones? Then 1 min shooting practice?

When Stan was in charge I've seen him change his team's formation at least three times in one game and got way above average results with very below average players.

With Sean it's 4-4-2 or nothing, I really have no idea what they coach down at Barnfield, but throw ins and free kicks ain't two of 'em.
