When the Indians get skittled for a low score in their own backyard, you know that the pitch is not fit for test cricket.
Is there much point in playing a test match on a suface like today. It's only the second day and already 27 wickets have fallen. Root is a part time off spinner and returns figures of 5 for 8 in an international cricket match. More runs would have been scored on my back lawn!

It isn’t Test Cricket; the pitch isn’t fit to walk my dogs on. The powers that be in cricket should penalise the Indian Cricket Board for this debacle, they won’t though, because it’s not allowed to criticise Indian cricket about anything. All the Indians care about cricketwise is their horrible slog fest. F****** 20/20 is an abomination, ruining the real game of cricket.
No matter how much these Indian commentators bleat on that the result had nothing to do with the wicket, how many test matches finish just after tea on the second day? I'd like to know the statistics on that. The fact that India won by ten wickets is flattering as in their second innings they could bat as if it was a 20/20 and under no pressure. It says it all when a side opening with a new ball use a left arm slow bowler and a part time off spinner.
They've just said on TV that it's the shortest completed test match since 1934, 86 years ago!

And we pack the team full of seamers 🙄
True, it was the wrong selection. Personally, I would have selected either Anderson or Broad, probably Anderson and also left out Archer. The wickets out there aren't conducive to quick bowling but having said this you do have to put some effort in, which he doesn't. Had we left two of the three out we could have played an extra spinner and batsman. Remember, we also had Stokes so there would have been enough bowling.
Notwithstanding the pitch, I was hoping for better application from our batsmen.
If you can win a test match in a day and a half by scoring less than 200 runs then the grounds man needs shooting.
So do our selectors.....too much pandering to the egos of Broad, Anderson and the West Indian bloke.
As above the pitch was a disgrace, this isn’t sour grapes but surely this can’t be allowed to happen again, test cricket is already under threat and this debacle will have the sponsors and fans wary of committing to future contests.
That said how on earth can you select a team for India that has a shortage of spin? I know Moeen wasn’t supposed to go home but then being left with only one recognised spinner is unfathonable
