Without question, that is our best result of the season. We should have won there back in August when we got a point and today we went one better. We were night and day to last week and so many games this season, Watt, Maguire and Roberts all put an excellent shift today and Liam Kelly showed the importance of having a good, solid goalkeeper with a fine performance.

    Much, much more like it.

The importance of yesterday's victory cannot be understated. We're still in a relegation battle but we've lifted ourselves out of the heat of the dogfight. Not often we travel to Easter Road and return with full points. Thats given us hope, but we have to follow that up with more wins starting next weekend against Livingston.

Win against Livi and we're looking good, lose and it sets up a real nervy one at Rugby Park.

We're still in the mire but it only takes a few more points from here to be ok.

The defence looks a lot better while keeping it simple (ie not asking Lamie to play football), the midfield is much better without Polworth and shuffled so that Crawford is the six with the other two getting up and down, and the attack is better when the huddle together in a wee cluster rather than being isolated across the width of the park.

Kelly looks good and from his comments is even pitching for a permanent move - we should be working on that one already.

So yep, an excellent day all round and lots to be happy with. But a wee positive run at the end of an awful season cannot/must not disguise the need for major rebuilding in summer.
