If Mellon isn't going to play him then it's a no brainer for the boy. Would love to see what he can do for us in the run in but the manager doesn't seem to want to give him that opportunity.

Doesn't mean he isn't rated. Not a huge number of league games left and going back on loan gives him a chance to play a lot more games and minutes. Probably a good decision for him and club. Different story next year when presumably Pawlett and Powers are out of the squad.
I don't think it's a poor decision, he isn't going to play this season so best getting valuable game time there
That's how we did it with goodwillie, russell etc etc
They came back all the better for it ready to start taking part in our games
Unless we have a young Zidane on our hands I don't see why people are so bothered by him not playing for us this season, it's the first year back in top flight, he isn't going to be ahead of atleast three players in that position
Exactly. He cannot be any worse than Clark in midfield who we persevered with (and probably lost out on top 6 because of) for 8 games. Harkes & Pawlett would be the other two in his position (assuming Butcher & Fuchs play the defensive roles) and neither of them are the answer. It's a strange one. Hopefully see him next season.
Dillon spoke very highly of Mochrie on DF podcast. There’s obviously a player there.
No harm getting some more matches on loan at Montrose and they have plenty of matches to play for rest of season.
The harm has already been done. Persevering with Clark in a position Mochrie is a natural at which has cost us top six. Surely he was worth a game or two to see how he coped? If he's genuinely worse than Clark in midfield then I'd go as far to say he has no future at Utd, as Clark in midfield is woeful.
