We should definitely be extending his contract - rave reviews from his time at Montrose

Laddie looks the biz, direct and a very good eye for a pass

Indeed he has mate. Surely we need to bring him into the first team squad for the beginning of next season, give him a few games in the friendlies and the LC?
I know Montrose is a much lower level than the Premiership but surely he has to be a better option than one or two getting a start at the moment.

Even if he doesn't start the first game next season he looks like the kind of player who could come on as a sub and create something with his movement and passing ability.

I'm a 100% percent for putting young guys like Mochrie on loan for a season or two, and getting them competitive action, but we should really be looking to get him tied up longer if he is of good potential though. Banks was the classic example, sent him on loan to Clyde, which allowed scouts to assess him, start of the season we have him back to fight for a first team place, by which time clubs are interested and he in the last year of his contract.

Hopefully some of these academy guys, especially if we get better quality in around them, are ready to contribute next season. The only one that has made a significant impact this season is Neilson, and loan at Falkirk will do him no harm, showed against St John 2-2 at home he has a bit to go. Thought Kai Fotheringham has shown some nice touches/technique in his few subby appearances, bit small. The others have just felt like box ticking exercises, when your are sticking Kerr Smith on in injury time at Ibrox 1-4 with barely enough time to get a touch its a futile exercise, other than giving him a wee boost/feel for it, its not going to tell you anything though.
