    ...cheeky bid

...if we stay up and the piggies go down, would you put a cheeky bid of £500,000 in for Bannon, and pay him decent money???? They might need the money in L1, especially if they are struggling of the £££ in this league...and he might want to stay in the Championship/local area.

I'd beware a couple of sayings about carts and horses and hatching chickens if I was you

...plus there will probably be another Sheffield team in the Championship who might think the same and have better resources than we do.

He’s on 30 grand a week and the Wednesday lads I work with say he’s not worth anywhere near that.

    Not for me.

    That boat has sailed.

He's just signed a new contract. He hung on to see what offers might have come in during the last transfer window but nothing materialised.

Correct Grist, a new 2 year contract and on money our players could only dream about. Total non starter but get where avondale is coming from because Bannon last night sent passes through that completely split us at times. He is a very good player but not in some fans eyes.
Flashes of brilliance but spells of laziness where he drifts out of the game. A sort of the Good, the bad and the ugly all rolled into one when consistency is always required, hence why he's never made it any higher in the game.

Personally I'd prefer us to go for Lewis Wing on a permanent deal, wages permitting.

Good shout. Was highly impressed by him last night, trouble is what would Boro want for him and would Wing be willing to come to us permanently?
