Hope not. I honestly dont understand why he gets the amount of criticism on here, granted weve had better, but I believe he genuinely cares about our club, and hes not as bad as some make out imo.

He blows too hot and cold for me, as a captain he should be taking charge more especially under duress. He was ok when he first took the arm band not now.

You know what, seeing him speak recently, I agree...I actually do think he cares. No, he's not the best but i think he's ok and I think he's pissed off with how things are.

Obviously, it didn't help coming out with the 'Mike's a nice guy' stuff but, trying to be more objective about it, I guess you could think what else could he say? Captain of the club talking about the owner who's just had a meal with them all and who must have presented himself as the 'barrel of laughs, gregarious host'-type, misunderstood, wants the best, etc, etc, Obviously none of us buy that type of bullshit as fans but Lascelles doesn't have our perspective.

i wouldn't like to think he's on Bruce's side.

And, having said what I've said, if he is, he can fuck off too.

The bar I always set is who in a team would others gladly have. Commitment to the shirt or not, you've got to have skill/graft/etc. that even your critics must grudgingly respect.

For me, the only people worth anything in our shirt that others would even look at are:

• Sam Maximus
• Dubravka - currently being detrained after his injuries
• Wilson

IMHO, the rest are largely trash but we've got to support them because they are all we've got.

For me:

•Jokelintoe - he'll have to start scoring like Haaland for me to like the guy. Even his barber thinks he's a knob
•Gayle has been a massive disappointment for me. Love the guy when he's on it but he's not PL material
•Carroll might be liked/loved by some on here but he's a donkey. Maybe he can threaten the ball from crosses but we NEVER cross to him; just send him balls from outer space.
