The midfield have protected the defense but now we have the same old issue in scoring. Sadly, it's also about sticking the ball in the net and we have had this problem since Gayle left. I also think a good finisher needs the service ie Harvey Barnes and certainly not from Pereira ( of late ) and Phillips whose final touch is poor.

I thought it was reasonable idea of Allardyce's to play Pereira out on the right. I really could see him cutting in on his strong left foot. However it is an experiment that has obviously failed and he needs to be moved back to his No.10 role where he was our most creative player and scored goals.

Does he think he's too good? Is he sulking?

I might have thought that likely first few games when Allardyce came in, but it has taken him a long time to get the defensive side of the team sorted, this now highlights which end of the pitch we need to improve, but as one of the pundits said after the game goals are the most expensive part of the team, for a club like ours at Premier league level the only way we do that is by stumbling across an Odemwingie or Vardy by sheer luck. Championship is different look at Gayle and Rodriguez hardly get any starting time for struggling teams in the prem...
